About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Key Account Manager to join our team and manage key accounts within the Construction and Infrastructure sector. In this role, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with our clients, helping them to achieve their sustainability goals while growing our business. You’ll play a crucial part in driving our circular economy initiatives, working closely with customers to understand their needs and deliver innovative waste management solutions.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Account Management: Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate clients within the construction and infrastructure sector, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Account Development: Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and secure new business within the sector, aligning customer needs with our waste and resource management solutions.
  • Consultative Selling: Develop a deep understanding of clients’ sustainability objectives, advising on best practices and solutions to reduce waste, increase recycling, and support circular economy initiatives.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations to secure long-term contracts that deliver value for both the customer and Reconomy.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track account performance and prepare reports on service levels, cost savings, and environmental benefits delivered.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and sustainability experts, to ensure seamless service delivery and continuous improvement.

What we need from you

We’re looking for an ambitious, results-driven professional with a genuine passion for sustainability and proven experience in account management - ideally within construction, infrastructure, or waste management sectors. You’ll bring exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, a strategic mindset, and a strong commitment to driving positive environmental change. 

Qualifications and skills that we need from you:
  • Experience: Proven experience in account management, business development, or sales, within the construction, infrastructure and/or waste management sectors.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the waste management industry, circular economy principles and sustainability challenges facing the construction sector.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Mindset: Proactive, customer-focused, and driven to achieve results, with a passion for sustainability and a waste-free future.
  • Education: Relevant degree or professional qualifications in business, environmental science, engineering, or a related field is desirable.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Location: We are flexible on your location as this role is partly home-based. However, you will need to visit customers and travel to our offices, particularly in Doncaster, on a regular basis as required.
