Job Overview

This position plays a key role in supporting the Energy Advice and Sales team by delivering high-quality administrative and operational support. The Energy Solutions Administrator will manage customer interactions, prepare quotations, and ensure accurate documentation throughout the sales process. The role involves coordinating solutions for electric heating systems, air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging units, and battery storage, ensuring customers receive clear, informed guidance on their energy transition options. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Acting as a trusted point of contact for customers, this position contributes to the success of Guernsey Electricity’s energy transition initiatives by providing exceptional service and supporting sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Note: Full training will be given on all aspects of the role.  

1.    Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Energy Advice and Sales team, including managing customer calls, scheduling appointments, and completing heat loss calculations. Ensure sales records are accurately maintained, quotations are prepared promptly, and follow-up actions are completed to maximize conversion rates. 
2.    Offer clear and informed advice to customers on transitioning from fossil fuels to electric energy solutions. 
3.    Promote Guernsey Electricity’s full range of energy solutions, including electric heating systems, air source heat pumps, EV charging points, and battery storage. 4.    Support customers in improving energy efficiency, including assisting with Home Energy Saving Audits. 
5.    Assist with additional load and heat loss assessments to confirm property capacity requirements. 
6.    Contribute to the planning and delivery of promotional events and exhibitions designed to enhance customer understanding of energy use, carbon reduction, and sustainability. 
7.    Provide support for future customer services and initiatives aligned with Guernsey’s 2050 net-zero strategy. 
8.    Ensure adherence to local legislation, including Guernsey Competition Law and Data Protection requirements. 
9.    Demonstrate Guernsey Electricity’s core values and behaviours in all interactions.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities 
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively within a small team 
  • Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and comfortable learning new technologies
