We’re looking for an Assistant Merchant to join the growing NikeSKIMS team in Los Angeles. This role is perfect for someone who’s highly organized and quick to learn systems, eager to learn the ins and outs of merchandising within a fast-paced, global fashion brand. The Assistant Merchant, NikeSKIMS will play a key role in driving the end-to-end product lifecycle—from initial line planning and sample coordination to market preparation and post-season analysis. A core part of this role is owning merchandising systems and tools, ensuring all product attributes, pricing, and seasonal data are built accurately and updated in real time. You’ll partner closely with Design, Product Development, Production, Planning, and Marketing to ensure the assortment reflects SKIMS’ brand vision and meets business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own PLM style creation and data entry, pricing updates, and product information accuracy across systems.
- Support the NikeSKIMS Merchant in building and maintaining seasonal line plans, line sheets, and merchandising tools.
- Coordinate samples for cross functional meetings, photoshoots and market appointments.
- Prepare for internal and external product presentations, including visual line sheets, product decks, and market tools.
- Partner with Product Development and Production to track sample status, delivery timelines, and product updates.
- Participate in competitive and market research to help inform future assortment and merchandising strategies.
- Partner with Nike teams to collect and manage critical data inputs, ensuring alignment and accuracy across merchandising tools and systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 1–2 years of experience in Merchandising, Buying, or Product Development within fashion or retail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
- Exceptional communication and follow-up skills; must be comfortable driving deadlines, chasing inputs, and keeping cross-functional partners accountable.
- Strong knowledge of product, trends, and the evolving active/athleisure landscape.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PLM/ERP systems is a plus.
- Extremely organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, shifting environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative, proactive, self-motivated team player who thrives in a joint venture environment.
- Deep understanding of the SKIMS aesthetic, brand values, and consumer mindset.
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to anticipate needs and move quickly.
- Comfortable with a high volume of administrative work and able to execute with speed, accuracy, and urgency.
