Jersey Post are looking for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT Team, supporting a multi-site operation.
Reporting to the Head of IT Service Delivery, you’ll play a key role in managing and maintaining our critical infrastructure—covering network, server, and VOIP systems—while delivering L3 and L2 support. You’ll take the lead on infrastructure projects (including VMware, Azure AVD, automation scripting, and networking) and collaborate closely with our UK and Jersey-based teams to drive performance, security, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain virtualised desktop infrastructure components including VMware vSphere, vCenter and associated technologies.
- Monitor and optimise Azure AVD session performance, investigating and resolving end-user experience issues
- Plan and execute infrastructure component upgrades, including hypervisors, management tools, and desktop operating systems
- Create and maintain desktop master images and application packaging solutions.
- Manage Windows desktop operating system deployment, updates, and security patches through Intune and related tools.
- Support & Manage ALL networking and telco infrastructure across multiple sites and using a mix of technologies and vendors.
- Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities through timely patch implementation and security best practices.
- Perform capacity planning and resource optimisation based on usage patterns and growth trends.
- Develop and maintain task sequences for automated OS deployment and configuration.
- Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
- Implement and maintain security controls and compliance requirements.
- Work with the support team to understand user needs and improve service delivery
- Planning and executing component upgrades.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Out of Hours emergency support for core infrastructure systems
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Expert Windows Server skills.
- Proficient in automation and scripting (PowerShell).
- Strong administration experience of virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure AVD).
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and deliver solutions at scale.
- Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, and network administration protocols.
- Expertise in VMWare, HPE, Windows Server, SQL databases, SIP Telephony and monitoring tools like Nagios.
- Strong experience in Microsoft Azure, WAN, Cisco WLC, Ubiquiti, With-Secure, Wazuh, IPSEC & SSL VPN, 802.1x, Microsoft AD, GPOs, DHCP and DNS.
- Experience working in agile environments.
- Strong understanding of Linux administration (Not essential).
