Operations Officer - Settlements

As an Operations Officer - Settlements, you will enable the delivery and receipt of stock to and from all counterparties in a timely manner, whilst following procedures and ensuring strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Register physical shares both in and out of client’s own name and our nominee name
- Run order books, tasks & reports in Avaloq to monitor settlement of trades against payment, liaising with the Client Services team/Execs and Counterparties accordingly
- Monitor all physical trades
- Chase all outstanding settlements on a weekly basis
- Review daily cash and stock reconciliations for all custodians
- Adhere to department procedures.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- An understanding of securities settlements would be advantageous
- Ability to obtain a solid understanding of Avaloq
- Ability to obtain a solid understanding of Custodian process
- Ability to follow procedures and make recommendations for improvement
- Understanding of banking and wealth management regulations across the UK and International jurisdictions of the Crown Dependencies
- Ability to develop strong relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to recognise where technical development in Avaloq could promote more efficient ways of working
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and methodical approach.
