Position Overview: 
 
The Staff Accountant performs an array of accounting activities including general ledger accounting, inventory accounting, and account reconciliations. The staff accountant needs to be experienced and fluent in all accounting basics. 

Location: This position will be primarily remote with occasional travel required. The ideal candidate will be located in Pacific or Mountain Time Zones.

What You Will Do

  • Assist with closing process including journal entries, accruals, maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies 
  • Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, including the posting of required transactions 
  • Assist with maintaining and report key operational metrics 
  • Partner in the development, implementation and monitoring of internal accounting controls 
  • Prepare complicated reconciliations, schedules, and various deliverables for reporting 
  • Ensure accounting activities are accurate, timely, in compliance with accounting policy and business processes 
  • Serve as backup for the accounts payable function 
  • Assist with external audits and provide audit requirements 
  • Effectively work across the organization, as an accounting interface with other functional groups 
  • Other accounting and departmental projects as assigned 
  • Be able to reason, ask questions and solve problems 
  • Assist in special projects as requested 

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting 
  • Audit experience is a plus 
  • Certified Public Accountant, or qualification and intent to sit for exam a plus
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct a plus 
  • Extensive skills in Microsoft Windows and Office tools; excellent command of spreadsheets 
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills, high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail 
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team 

Physical Requirements: 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasionally stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, knee, crouch or crawl, talk and hear 
  • This position is fully remote but occasional short-term travel may be required 

Compensation: Up-to $85,000 (max.); compensation will be determined based on upon skills, experience, location, etc.
