An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join the Maintenance team in Northern Ireland, covering both Kilroot and Ballylumford Power Stations.
The successful candidate will play an active part in the integrated Maintenance team that has responsibility for the complete asset care of the plants by supporting the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the plans and contributing to the achievement of company objectives and business targets.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Controller (Electrical), the key duties and responsibilities will be:
- Carrying out all forms of maintenance (routine, overhaul, breakdown etc.) and defect investigation on all designated plant to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant in accordance with overall company objectives.
- Identifying and sourcing spares required to facilitate maintenance, utilising the SAP system for stock spares as well as liaising with external suppliers and OEM’s to identify and source suitable parts.
- Identifying and setting up new stock items within the SAP system as required.
- Contributing to the development of, and implementing, maintenance strategies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant and carrying out works to specified and appropriate standards.
- Contributing to the development of maintenance plans in conjunction with other maintenance team members and other departments.
- Authorised to the appropriate level under the EP safety rules, interfacing with Operations on safety documentation, and using SAP/Eclipse to request maintenance work execution.
- Authorised to appropriate level with respect to Risk Assessment creation and approval.
- Using the SAP system including, work orders, inventory, and purchasing.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement through plant monitoring, fault diagnosis and other maintenance techniques.
- Initiating modifications and adjustments consistent with improved plant performance, and executing through the application of plant change control procedure.
- Reporting on plant condition and carrying out repairs, modifications and installation of new or replacement equipment as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Background
- Experience of plant maintenance (power plant / industrial experience preferred) - essential.
- Good understanding of relevant maintenance philosophies, existing and proposed technical legislation, company policy and legal obligations - essential.
- Technical ability and experience to carry out ‘live work’ on or near live conductors - desirable.
- Ability to install apparatus, inspect and test in order to comply with DSEAR/ATEX regulations - desirable.

Qualifications
- HNC or relevant electrical apprenticeship completed - essential.
