🩺 What You’ll Do:

You’ll play a key role in supporting our emergency and critical care teams—helping deliver high-quality care when pets (and their people) need it most.
  • Assist veterinarians and licensed technicians with emergency triage, urgent procedures, treatments, and surgery prep
  • Provide skilled handling and restraint for critically ill, injured, or fractious patients
  • Perform and support diagnostics: venipuncture, in-house lab work, radiographs, fecals, urinalysis, etc.
  • Administer medications: oral, IM, SQ, and IV
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgical procedures, including induction and recovery
  • Observe, monitor, and chart vitals and behavior of hospitalized patients overnight
  • Maintain cleanliness, stock supplies, and support shift transitions
  • Deliver excellent communication and client education when needed, including discharge instructions

✅ What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 2+ years of veterinary experience, preferably in emergency, critical care, or specialty settings
  • Proficient in patient restraint, IV catheter placement, blood draws, and emergency protocols
  • Familiarity with anesthetic monitoring, surgical assisting, and post-op recovery protocols
  • Comfort and competence in performing diagnostics (Idexx/Heska labs, fecals, urinalysis, cytology, etc.)
  • Experience using veterinary software (PIMS) and medical recordkeeping systems
  • Ability to stay focused and calm under pressure, especially during trauma cases or overnight surges
  • A strong sense of initiative, accountability, and teamwork
  • Flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays, on a rotating basis
