We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the Senior Cost Accountant position, joining our Nottingham, PA team!
- SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday approximately 40+ hours a week

Key Responsibilities
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
- Perform and direct key aspects of the monthly accounting close process.
- Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.
- Oversee the general ledger, AR, and payables ledgers within the accounting system.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial results to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Prepare account reconciliations.
- Supervise a team of 2-4 direct reports in general accounting functions.
- Collaborate with peers in support of the overall finance and accounting team.
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and building strong employee relationships.
- Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and other projects as requested.
- Support quarterly and year-end financial audit activities.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related degree.
- 5-7 years of accounting or finance related experience.
- General understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities necessary to perform the responsibilities of the role.
- Team focused approach that supports the culture of Herr’s.
- Strong desire to improve, innovate and help support best practices.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.

Physical requirements and work environment:
- Performs work required for this position in an office environment.
- Remains sedentary for moderate to extended periods of time.
- Required to us a computer monitor, keyboard, mouse, and calculator for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on occasion.
- Travels occasionally for conferences, client meetings, information gathering, and the like.
