We are seeking a Design Office Intern to support the delivery of assigned Design Office projects on behalf of Britten-Norman Aerospace Limited Design Office.

Support the overall direction of the Company, with particular emphasis on supporting Design Office functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Design Engineers to assist them across a wide range of aerospace design activities. 
  • Creation of design schemes and solutions to specific project requirements. 
  • Prepare and deliver detailed technical reports on subjects as directed by Design Office team. 
  • Provide clear documentation of findings, compliance evidence, and action plans. 
  • Summarise data and findings for presentation to regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and senior management. 
  • Work closely with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to accomplish designated tasks. 
  • Liaison with all technical disciplines within the Design Office to produce coherent and comprehensive design solutions and packages 
  • Liaison with all other departments e.g. production and installation engineers in matters relating to projects to ensure smooth implementation of design requirements 
  • Communicate effectively with all members of your team and the business alike, identify early potential risks, seek clarification of you are unsure and provide feedback on all aspects of the business to your line manager.  
  • Assist Head of Technical Projects to deliver projects to time and cost for all aspects of the project.  
  • Undertake and successfully pass appropriate training applicable to your role as communicated to you from time to time and proactively identify training opportunities for your own advancement and self-improvement. 
  • Proactively comply with and advocate company Health and Safety policies and procedures 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 5 GCSEs Grade C/4+ incl Maths / English
  • Studying (or recently completed) a Degree in a relevant field of study (i.e. Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering etc).
  • A good overall grasp of aeronautical technologies, products and processes
  • A working knowledge of aerospace safety principles and processes
