As a Capture Manager, you will support Nuvitek’s Director of Growth and lead end-to-end capture activities for prioritized federal and state pursuits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead capture activities for assigned DoD and civilian agency opportunities, from early identification and qualification through proposal submission and post-submission support.
  • Develop and maintain capture plans, win strategies, and competitive assessments for priority pursuits.
  • Conduct customer, stakeholder, and market research to understand mission needs, pain points, funding profiles, acquisition strategies, procurement timelines, and the competitive landscape.
  • Shape opportunities through early and sustained engagement with government program offices, contracting officers, integrators, and ecosystem partners, including participation in industry days, RFIs, and draft solicitation reviews.
  • Build and maintain relationships within DoD and defense-adjacent organizations, including program offices, innovation cells, and small business offices.
  • Track and assess upcoming DoD procurements, RFIs, RFPs, and IDIQ task orders across vehicles such as GSA MAS, OASIS+, and DoD-specific contract vehicles.
  • Collaborate with technical and delivery leadership to shape solutions.
  • Translate customer mission requirements into clear, compelling value propositions and solution narratives.
  • Support the development of reusable capture artifacts, frameworks, and past performance mappings for DoD and federal opportunities.
  • Work with proposal managers and subject matter experts to develop compliant, compelling proposals.
  • Contribute to outlines, executive summaries, technical approaches, management sections, and pricing strategies.
  • Lead color team reviews, solution validation sessions, and final proposal readiness assessments.
  • Maintain a healthy, qualified pipeline of opportunities and provide regular reporting on capture status, probability of win, risks, and next steps.
  • Support quarterly and annual growth planning and account strategy development.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 4+ years of experience in capture management, business development, or equivalent within federal government contracting.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading competitive pursuits from qualification through proposal submission.
  • Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal acquisition processes, with hands-on experience supporting RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
  • Experience supporting IT services, digital modernization, or enterprise platform implementations.
  • Proven ability to develop win strategies, competitive positioning, and actionable capture plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and coordinating cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, pricing, contracts, legal, and graphics.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be located in DMV area
