We are currently looking for a Senior Product Designer (all genders) based in Berlin (hybrid) or remote within Germany.

Your mission with us:

As a Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for designing engaging and successful experiences for both students and teachers within our Classroom Pod. Reporting to the Head of Design and User Research, this role is pivotal to Lingoda’s journey as we scale our people, business, and products.

You will play a key role in shaping the future of the Lingoda learning experience, designing across our core learning ecosystem. Your work will focus on evolving the Lingoda Classroom by building features that empower teachers to deliver outstanding lessons, while creating seamless, engaging experiences for students. Beyond the live class, you will help turn classroom learnings into personalised student journeys and design how practice inside and outside the classroom connects—ensuring classes, practice, and progress work together as one cohesive experience.

You will work closely within our cross-functional Classroom Pod, partnering with a Product Manager, engineers, and QA, and will be supported by our User Research and Product Analytics teams.

Your tasks:

  • Design impactful learning experiences: Own design within the Classroom Pod, partnering closely with your Product Manager to shape product strategy and the roadmap. Design high-quality experiences for students and teachers across the Lingoda Classroom, with a strong focus on engagement, retention, and learning outcomes—from exploration to polished execution.
  • Visual craft & branded moments: Create strong visual design and distinctive Lingoda moments at key points in the learning journey, balancing usability, brand expression, and attention to detail.
  • Balance speed and vision: Scope work effectively, make informed design decisions under uncertainty, and contribute to a clear long-term product and experience vision—moving fast when needed without compromising quality.
  • Design systems & consistency: Contribute to the evolution of Lingoda’s design system by applying it thoughtfully, identifying gaps, and helping scale consistent patterns and behaviours across the Lingoda ecosystem.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering and Product in a highly iterative environment to align on strategy and execution. Partner with teachers and the Teacher Team to understand teaching needs and translate them into effective product solutions.
  • Experiment and explore: Use research, feedback, and experimentation to push the Classroom experience forward. Contribute to AI-powered features and explore how emerging technologies, including AI, can enhance learning, teaching, and the design process.
  • Communicate and align: Clearly articulate design decisions, trade-offs, and vision to align stakeholders and drive shared ownership across Product, Engineering, Research, and Teaching teams.
  • Advocate for Users: Balance learner and teacher needs with business impact, translating insights into meaningful, scalable experiences that improve outcomes and build trust in the Lingoda learning experience.

You bring to Lingoda:

  • 5+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2C or consumer-facing products.
  • Strong visual design skills and a keen eye for detail, brand, and interaction quality.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams on complex, interaction-heavy products.
  • Ability to work across low and high fidelity, from concept to production-ready design.
    Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional and non-technical teams
  • Systems thinking and experience working with and contributing to design systems
  • An experimental mindset and curiosity about emerging technologies; experience designing AI-powered features is a strong plus
  • A portfolio showcasing strong craft, end-to-end product thinking, and impact on engagement or retention
  • Experience gathering qualitative and quantitative user data to identify opportunities and inform design decisions
  • An experimental and proactive mindset
