ROLE PURPOSE
The Logistics Process Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing operational efficiencies within the forward and reverse logistics value streams. The Process Engineer plays a critical role in supporting management by analyzing the existing processes, value streams, and identifying areas for improvement that are mutually beneficial across stakeholders. This role will be a thought leader in developing and enhancing how Glory’s supply chain performs and reducing waste and inefficiencies along the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Applies logistics engineering techniques to address current and potential issues within the operational framework of supply chain and logistics for fulfillment and receiving of parts.
- Evaluate effectiveness of current logistics processes and optimize opportunities for streamlining and creating other efficiencies to include cost savings.
- Evaluate and optimize the effectiveness of warehouse management system and ERP functionality. May include partnership with stakeholders in the Repair Center, IT and Supply Chain departments to implement optimization solutions.
- Supports the development of logistics Key Performance Indicators and other metrics measure supply chain performance in relation to the business.
- Evaluate and optimize the effectiveness of the Repair Center good part/bad part flow and throughput through the use of time studies, etc.
- Identifies opportunities to improve the good part/bad part flow with the Repair Center
- May prepare reports and documentation on related data through supply chain systems and applications.
- Conducts logistics studies or analyses to support business case objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Education Level:
- High school diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- 3-7 years in warehouse operations, logistics engineering or supply chain operation roles.
- Strong computer skills in the use of database systems, Excel Pivot Tables, look-ups, Microsoft Office, and basic computer operating systems.
- Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication
- Advanced data analysis and data visualization
- Demonstrated expertise in supply chain best practices, common obstacles, and effective solutions
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing value stream mapping, Kaizen and Kanban.
- Demonstrated experience in using time studies, heat mapping, and quality control processes and other industrial engineering tools
- Knowledge of tools and technologies to improve the warehouse/logistics flow such as conveyor belts, barcoding, etc.
- Sound judgment decision making skills, with the ability to prioritize and to work under continual deadline pressure.
- Excellent teamwork skills and a proven ability to be successful in cross-functional teams.
- Ensuring that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met,
- Data entry, time management, critical thinking, and leadership.
- Ability to learn company ERP software application, knowledge of JDE/OFSC a plus,
- Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail.
- Exercises diligence in completing work activities with the willingness to work extra hours if needed.
- Proficiency in Oracle JDE 9.2 is desired.
