About the Role


Intermedia is looking for a Core Systems Administrator – L1 to join our Operations team.


In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting core infrastructure systems with a strong focus on operational stability, patching, and storage maintenance. The position supports a 24x7 production environment and includes regularly scheduled weekend work, with close coordination across global teams to ensure seamless coverage.


This is a remote position.

Key Responsibilities


  • Administer, monitor, and support enterprise infrastructure systems
  • Support and maintain enterprise storage platforms (e.g., NetApp, Pure, EMC)
  • Perform operating system, application, and infrastructure patching (Windows, Linux, ESXi, storage systems)
  • Remediate vulnerabilities, resolve failed patches, and provide status reporting
  • Execute scheduled weekend maintenance and operational tasks
  • Monitor systems and respond to alerts and incidents during assigned coverage periods
  • Coordinate handoffs between weekend and weekday support teams
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and platform issues
  • Assist with capacity planning and resource utilization
  • Maintain and update operational documentation and procedures


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux systems
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
  • Experience supporting production infrastructure environments
  • Ability to follow structured operational procedures and maintenance schedules
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and reliably during off-hours and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise storage platforms (NetApp, Pure, EMC, etc.)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana or Zabbix
  • Basic scripting or automation experience (PowerShell or Ansible)
  • ITIL Foundation knowledge
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
