If the answer is YES, then we are looking for you.  We are hiring Business Development personnel to grow our Logistics, Environmental and Culinary services & capabilities in Houston.  Successful candidate will attract new clients and will nourishing & building stronger relationships with existing clients in the Texas and Gulf Coast Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research competitors, market activity, and project pipelines within utilities sectors
  • Prospect and expand target accounts including contractors, developers, and facility leaders
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers and secure virtual and on-site meetings
  • Align Cotton’s restoration, logistics, and construction solutions with client operational and emergency needs
  • Generate leads through cold calling, networking, site visits, and industry events
  • Track outages, expansions, and capital projects to proactively position Cotton for opportunities
  • Partner with internal teams to drive proposals, close deals, and grow revenue
  • Represent Cotton professionally and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Utilize CRM and marketing tools to manage pipeline and increase results


What You Bring to the Table

  • 7+ years of proven business development and account management experience supporting electric utilities, power generation, transmission/distribution, or industrial services environments
  • Experience selling field-based and rapid-response services such as storm restoration, emergency response, temporary workforce housing, logistics support, environmental remediation, infrastructure repair, or disaster recovery services
  • Established relationships with electric utilities, co-ops, municipalities, public works departments, EPC contractors, and plant/facility leadership
  • Demonstrated success prospecting large territories, cold calling, and building a book of business from the ground up
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, on-call environments with the ability to quickly mobilize during storms, outages, or emergency events
  • Strong customer service, relationship-building, and negotiation skills with operations, procurement, and executive stakeholders
  • Proven ability to navigate long sales cycles, master service agreements (MSAs), and preferred vendor programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and professionalism
  • High work ethic with resilience, grit, and hunter mentality; motivated to win new accounts and expand market share
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar)

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally as business need requires 
  • Ability to communicate effectively face to face, telephone and via video telecommunications 
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle and provide a good driving record  
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
