Job Overview

The Business Development Executive/Senior Executive role has been established to work closely with the Business Development Manager and Head of Business Development (BD) to support Bedell Cristin partners and their teams on delivering their business plans through a range of domestic and international BD activities both in-person and online. 

The postholder will work with teams across our different offices, jurisdictions and time zones, identifying opportunities and developing plans to drive growth.  They will build strong relationships within the practice groups, developing a clear understanding of Bedell Cristin's key markets and grow a strong personal brand within the business globally.  They will have excellent communication skills, ideally with previous experience within an onshore or offshore law environment. The postholder might have to undertake some business-related travel.

The role reports into the Head of BD and sits within the wider BD and Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of external and internal events and conferences aligned with business development and marketing objectives. 
  • Manage running your designated global practice team’s BD plans, working collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure seamless execution. 
  • Assist lawyers with preparation for BD trips, including coordination of materials, scheduling support, and post-trip follow-up activities. 
  • Maintain and utilise the CRM system to accurately capture, process, and report on client, intermediary, and BD-related data. 
  • Contribute to the implementation of business development initiatives that support departmental and firmwide growth objectives. 
  • Work closely with colleagues across the global Marketing team to coordinate BD activities, communications, and campaign support. 
  • Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s practice areas, target markets, key messaging, and industry trends; attend relevant training sessions as required.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Qualifications
  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • Ideally have completed a professional/relevant qualification in Marketing
Knowledge/skills/experience
  • Previous experience working in a law firm environment desirable 
  • Excellent planning abilities and a strong teamwork ethic
  • A track record for delivery and ability of managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Develop and demonstrate expertise in event production, event contract procedures, logistics and audience management
  • Being confident, resilient and pragmatic with the ability to adapt to and manage unforeseen issues and changes
  • Being proactive and enthusiastic with a positive attitude
  • Being well organised and deliver to a consistently high standard
  • Being a supportive and committed team player 
  • Experience using a CRM system beneficial but not essential
