The Bunkering Operations Analyst is responsible for delivering high‑quality operational, financial, and performance analytics that support informed decision‑making across Peninsula’s global bunkering operations. The role ensures that cost accuracy, P&L transparency, operational efficiency, and performance metrics are rigorously monitored, maintained, and improved. This position acts as the analytical backbone of the operations team—owning data integrity, financial validation, and operational performance monitoring—while supporting continuous improvement across physical supply locations and bunker tanker operations.
The Bunkering Operations Analyst is responsible for delivering high‑quality operational, financial, and performance analytics that support informed decision‑making across Peninsula’s global bunkering operations. The role ensures that cost accuracy, P&L transparency, operational efficiency, and performance metrics are rigorously monitored, maintained, and improved. This position acts as the analytical backbone of the operations team—owning data integrity, financial validation, and operational performance monitoring—while supporting continuous improvement across physical supply locations and bunker tanker operations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely operational data across Peninsula's trading platform, Power BI dashboards, operations position reporting and supporting systems.
- Validate key operational inputs including SOFs, ROB updates, barge schedules, customs documentation, and product movement records and identify/correct anomalies.
- Ensure all post‑trade administrative data is aligned with operational and financial records.
- Develop and maintain KPI frameworks for bunker tanker performance, fleet utilisation, delivery cycle times, idle time, and operational reliability.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis of operational inefficiencies (e.g., delays, under‑utilisation, breakdowns in process).
- Deliver regular performance dashboards to Supply Traders, Operations Managers, and Senior Management.
- Recommend tactical and strategic improvements that enhance operational throughput and reduce costs.
- Prepare detailed cost analysis, monthly P&L performance packs and support budgeting and forecasting processes by supplying operational and cost-based assumptions.
- Work closely with Operations Managers, Coordinators, and Executives to ensure all performance data reflects real operational outcomes.
- Support Supply Traders with analytical insights on barge capability, loading cycles, ullage planning, and congestion impacts.
- Liaise with Finance, Quality, Agents, Terminal Operators, and Customs to validate operational and financial records.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Bachelors degree ideally in an analytical discipline
- Strong quantitative and analytical capability, proficient in Excel
- Clear understanding of accounting and valuation concepts
- Results oriented and demonstrably commercial
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Team player
- Energetic, resilient and resourceful, with an ability to work accurately under pressure
- Creativity and problem solving
Desirable:
- Knowledge of other languages is an advantage
- Proficiency with VBA, Python
- Experience in the shipping/bunkering industry, direct experience in bunkering operations/shipping analytics is a plus
