Trading Technologies (TT) is scaling its next-generation Compliance platform — a modern, data-driven trade surveillance system used by financial institutions to detect market abuse and satisfy regulatory requirements. Our Prague-based engineering team will play a key role in delivering a fully modernised platform — focused on usability, speed, and real-time decision-making for compliance professionals.
We're seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join and lead our high-performance data engineering team. You'll be responsible for the design and build scalable data pipelines that process billions of records daily, supporting critical financial surveillance and analytics systems. This role requires expertise in big data technologies, cloud infrastructure, and a proven track record of handling massive-scale data processing.
What Will You Be Involved With?
- Architectural Leadership: Design and implement high-throughput Java services (Spring Boot/Quarkus) that handle billions of records daily.
- Data Strategy: Lead the integration with Snowflake, optimizing SQL performance and data modeling for massive time-series datasets.
- Performance & Optimization: Optimize Spark jobs for memory, parallelism, and cost efficiency. Tune database queries and processing jobs for terabyte-scale datasets.
- AI Integration: Collaborate with Data Science teams to deploy and scale Machine Learning models into production environments.
What Will You Bring to the Table?
- Expert Java Skills: 7+ years of professional experience with Java and deep knowledge of JVM tuning.
- Data at Scale: Proven experience with Apache Spark and managing large-scale data warehouses, specifically Snowflake.
- Cloud Native: Expert-level proficiency with AWS (Lambda, S3, EMR, DynamoDB, and SNS/SQS).
- AI/ML Familiarity: Experience building "AI-ready" pipelines or integrating with LLMs/ML frameworks.
- Leadership: Experience mentoring junior developers and driving "big picture" design decisions.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience with Apache Kafka, Kinesis, or other streaming platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience in financial services, trading systems, or market surveillance, with an understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, MAR).
