As a Commercial Trainee you will shadow and support members of the Commercial Department and assist with the procurement of material and plant, under supervision of the Regional Buyer / Senior Buyer.
If you do not already hold a relevant qualification you may also work towards a nationally recognised qualification with the Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all Miller Homes policies and procedures and procurement plans
- Take off and preparing material schedules
- Expediting materials ordered as required
- Managing plant
- Processing requisition orders
- Bulk order information entry
- Material budget entry
- Material tender enquiries
- Maintenance of documentation library
- Day to day consumables for site
- General office duties for the Commercial team
- Resolving invoice queries in a timely manner ensuring, as far as possible, suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed trading terms.
- Collation of monthly plant hire data and communication of information to relevant Site Managers
- Assisting Surveyors with monthly payments, subcontractor procurement, order management and costing reports

- Basic knowledge of construction practice and materials commonly used in the House Building / Construction Industry
