The HR Manager will lead and deliver a proactive, commercially focused HR service across the business, supporting a professional consultancy workforce. What you will do
HR Strategy & Advisory
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Support organisational change, restructuring, and growth initiatives.
Employee Relations
- Manage all ER matters
- Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant decision-making across the business.
- Advise managers on employment law, best practice, and ACAS guidelines.
Recruitment & Resourcing
- Partner with the Group’s central Talent Acquisition team to coordinate recruitment for professional and support roles, ensuring clear briefs, approvals, and timely feedback.
- Support hiring managers with interview planning, candidate selection, and offer alignment, including contract generation and budget approvals.
- Coordinate seamless onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Lead workforce planning, helping managers anticipate demand and prioritise hiring in line with commercial objectives.
- Promote direct hiring and adherence to group recruitment processes.
Learning & Development
- Coordinate internal learning programmes, lunch-and-learns, and CPD calendars, supporting professional development pathways.
- Act as the first point of contact for individual CPD requests and deliver soft skills training where appropriate.
- Work with managers to identify training needs and facilitate technical or specialist training.
- Manage appraisal and performance review processes in collaboration with line managers.
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
- Support salary benchmarking and annual review processes.
- Oversee benefits administration and liaise with payroll providers.
- Maintain accurate HR data.
Compliance & HR Operations
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law, health & safety obligations, and GDPR requirements.
- Maintain HR systems.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives across the business.
Who you are
- Proven experience operating at HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor level, with strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
- Experience within construction, property, engineering, or professional services, ideally in a consultancy or project-based environment.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified as a minimum (Level 7 desirable).
- Confident advising and influencing managers at all levels.
- Experience supporting organisational change, consultation processes, and TUPE, with the ability to navigate complex people matters.
- Familiarity with professional accreditation frameworks (e.g. RICS, CIOB) and supporting hybrid or flexible working models.
