Job Overview

Equipment Build Technician help support the setup, teardown, maintenance, and troubleshooting of specialized equipment in accordance with project specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical and electronic systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The role also requires a willingness and ability to learn new technical skills, such as soldering and software installation.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
  • Assemble, disassemble, and reassemble complex equipment according to technical specifications, schematics, and procedures outlined in the scope of work. 
  • Inspect equipment for defects, damage, or missing components prior to assembly. 
  • Document all parts used during assembly and disassembly, ensuring accurate records for inventory and maintenance purposes. 
  • Test and verify that components and equipment are functioning correctly before, during, and after assembly. - Install, configure, and update software required for equipment operation and testing. 
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace. 
  • Document assembly/disassembly processes, including any deviations or issues encountered. 
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure equipment meets operational and quality standards. 
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance during assembly or disassembly. 
  • Handle and store components, tools, and equipment carefully to prevent damage.

Job Qualifications

Education/Certifications: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
Experience:      
  • Proven experience in mechanical or electronic equipment assembly and disassembly.
Skills and Qualifications: 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to document parts used and maintain accurate records.
  • Basic computer skills, including loading and configuring software.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment safely.
