We are currently seeking a Case Manager Assistant to support our Telephonic Nurse Case Management team in the coordination and administration of Workers’ Compensation medical cases.
As a Case Manager Assistant, you will play a critical support role in facilitating timely, high-quality, and cost-effective medical care for injured workers. Working closely with the Telephonic Case Manager (TCM), you will help manage case activity, gather essential documentation, coordinate care, and proactively identify issues that may impact recovery and disability status.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact injured workers, employers, and medical providers to verify and obtain initial claim information
- Obtain and track medical records and documentation
- Schedule medical appointments and coordinate follow-ups
- Obtain and communicate work status updates from providers
- Draft, edit, and distribute correspondence on behalf of the case manager
Accurately document all case activity and communications in the claims management system - Maintain and manage assigned diary tasks to ensure timely follow-up
- Identify and escalate issues requiring case manager attention
- Assist with triage and direction of care based on established guidelines
Support medical management efforts to ensure compliance with Florida Workers’ Compensation statutes - Perform additional administrative or case-related duties as needed
Skills, knowledge & expertise
- 1–2 years of medical terminology and/or medical office experience required
- Experience supporting Workers’ Compensation case management preferred
- Typing proficiency of 35+ words per minute
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Working knowledge of the Florida Workers’ Compensation system and applicable statutes
- Familiarity with medical terminology and/or medical office experience
- Experience interacting with medical provider offices
- Strong data entry and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, claims systems)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Detail-oriented and highly motivated
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
