Job Overview

The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations related to the physical side of the business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

You will lead a team of 3 accountants, supervising a total of 18 legal entities.

In addition, you will be expected to manage month end closes, to internally report P&L to middle office, and explain variances between actual results and estimates. This will be paired with the monthly maintenance of balance sheet accounts for subsidiary entities, monitoring of subledgers such as bank accounts, receivables, and payables.

The Finance Manager will also manage external reporting tasks such as the preparation and filing of tax returns related to the subsidiary entities, statutory accounts preparation and management of audit queries.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the management team.
  • Lead and mentor staff to optimise their own development and contribute to business success.
  • Prepare and supervise Month End accounts for the physical business.
  • Variance Analysis.
  • Stock valuations.
  • Monthly balance sheet preparation and reviews.
  • Statutory financial statements reporting and tax compliance.
  • Annual audit management.
  • Close liaison with Middle Office and Operations teams
  • Monthly management reporting
  • Identify and implement process and system improvements to streamline activities performed by the team.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Esssential:
  • Cash Flow Management Skills
  • Detail orientated with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • The ability to deliver under pressure, prioritise and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Staff management and strong stakeholder management experience.
  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record in introducing process improvements
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Excellent planning, organisational and leadership skill
  • Proven experience in the areas of financial planning & analysis, finance business partnering, management accounting and financial control
  • Self-motivated and proactive leader who is prepared to be hands-on
  • Attention to detail and desire to understand the underlying business
  • Experience in growing and managing teams
  • Positive attitude: 'can do' approach and willing to give everything a go from manual processing to larger projects
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard finance packages.
  • Professional accounting qualification 
Desirable:
  • Experience in Cost of Sales and stock reconciliation.
  • Experience in financial systems, particularly Business Central.
  • Additional languages
