Role Overview
Clipwire Games is growing and looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join our data team and support the Product organisation with the insights that help us make better games.
This role is ideal for someone early in their analytics career who is eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced, data-rich environment. You'll work alongside experienced analysts to maintain reporting, investigate player behaviour, and contribute to the data foundations that inform product decisions across our titles. Day-to-day you'll be hands-on with SQL and our BI tools, helping to keep key metrics accurate, surfacing anomalies, and documenting the work that keeps the team running smoothly.
You're curious, detail-oriented, and proactive about your own development. You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly, and are excited by the idea of growing into a well-rounded analyst in the games industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain dashboards and reports, ensuring core product KPIs remain accurate and up to date
- Write and maintain SQL queries to support regular reporting and ad hoc analysis requests
- Monitor key metrics — DAU, retention, session length, conversion — and flag anomalies to senior team members
- Conduct player behaviour analyses under guidance, exploring retention, progression, and monetisation funnels
- Support in-game event instrumentation by helping document tracking requirements with designers and feature owners
- Assist in investigating data issues, gathering relevant information and escalating findings with clear context
- Create and maintain documentation on deliverables, metric definitions, and data sources
- Manage personal workload effectively and communicate progress to stakeholders in a timely manner
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Foundational SQL skills - able to extract, filter, and aggregate data from relational databases
- Familiarity with at least one BI or visualisation tool (Tableau, Looker, or similar)
- Comfortable working with large datasets and identifying basic trends, anomalies, and patterns
- Methodical approach to data validation and quality checking with strong attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to summarise findings in an accessible way
- Proactive and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in developing technical and analytical skills
- Able to manage personal workload, prioritise tasks, and escalate blockers in a timely manner
- Basic understanding of mobile game metrics such as DAU, retention, and session length
