Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller, Payroll Specialist manages company's payroll processing and associated functions and ensures that all employees within an organization are paid on time and correctly.
- Maintain and post weekly timesheets.
- Set up new joiners in Deltek Vision and in Dayforce.
- Process semi-monthly payroll.
- Monitor and track employee and employer portion of the RRSP contribution.
- Remit RRSP contribution on Sun Life portal.
- Reconcile Sunlife benefit premiums.
- Calculate, remit and complete annual reconciliation for Workers’ Compensation premiums and EHT for different provinces.
- Calculate and track Vacation Buy/Sell for eligible employees.
- Post employee expenses; post payroll entry in Deltek Vision.
- Perform payroll reconciliation.
- Prepare payroll journal entries at month end.
- Monitor the Payroll email inbox and answer payroll related questions from employees and others.
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible team members, who possess the following knowledge, experience, and skills:
- 3 – 5 years of payroll experience.
- Payroll certification or working towards is an asset.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications (MS office).
- Knowledge in using Dayforce.
- Previous experience in working with engineering company is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
