VP, Global Water Engineering

Job Overview


The Vice President will serve as the leader of our Global Water Engineering team, responsible for driving the design and development of innovative water system products to cater to our diverse global customer base. This strategic role plays a pivotal part in shaping the future of our global market presence.

Key Responsibilities


Global Product Design and Engineering Functional Leadership

•      Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for Global Water Engineering ensuring seamless integration with the broader corporate objectives. This encompasses product design, development, validation, and production support across multiple product lines.

•      Define and set the Key Strategic Initiative (KSI) performance metrics to align with corporate profitability and overarching goals, with a strong focus on delivery, quality and cost.

•      Direct a global innovation mission and strategy while taking ownership of the innovation pipeline, collaborating closely with senior leadership to align with critical cross-business challenges and strategic opportunities.

•      Embody and exemplify leadership attributes of a high performance culture (integrity, accountability, strong communication and problem solving).

•      Champions Customer Focused innovation of Global Water products. 

•      Assume overall responsibility for the establishment and approval of department budgets and spending forecasts that are in line with our organizational strategy. 

•      Define and implement engineering standard practices in accordance with the Franklin Electric Product Development Process.

•      Oversee and manage the implementation of computer-aided engineering and simulation tools, design reviews, DFMEA, and validation planning.

•      Monitor, report on, and ensure accountability of the Engineering function’s performance.

•      Evaluate team capabilities, identify gaps and prioritize development activities for the Engineering employees. Inspire and empower team to achieve challenging objectives. 

•      Analyzes resource requirements and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. 

Company Strategy

•      Actively participate in the development of the corporate strategy, leveraging expertise to assess the strategy's viability and contribute creative ideas and insights to shape the strategy formation process.

•      Serve as the primary liaison between global engineering and the manufacturing and marketing teams.

•      Deliver engaging and informative presentations to explain proposals, reports, and findings to both internal and external stakeholders.

•      Effectively interact with customers, clients, the general public, and other members of the organization.

 What you Bring

•      Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field (required).

•      Master's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field (preferred).

•      A minimum of ten years of relevant Engineering management experience (required). 

•      A minimum of five years managing a global Engineering team (required).

•      Demonstrated experience in:
o   and proficiency in the domains of business development.
o   Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other problem solving (preferred).

•      Travel required: Domestic and international travel up to 40%.
