The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Project Manager on a 24 month Fixed Term Contract at TeesRep Biomass Plant in Middlesbrough.
The Project Manager will provide project leadership at TeesREP, ensuring the safe, compliant and commercially effective delivery of capital and revenue projects in line with px Group Operating Standards, client requirements and site business objectives. The role is accountable for project governance including scope, risk, cost, schedule and quality control, ensuring effective stakeholder communication and successful integration of projects into live operations.

The Opportunity

The Project Manager will provide project leadership at TeesREP, ensuring the safe, compliant and commercially effective delivery of capital and revenue projects in line with px Group Operating Standards, client requirements and site business objectives. The role is accountable for project governance including scope, risk, cost, schedule and quality control, ensuring effective stakeholder communication and successful integration of projects into live operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Own and manage the full project lifecycle from concept through to commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery in line with px Group Operating Standards and client expectations.
• Identify, assess and actively manage project risks and opportunities, maintaining a live Project Risk Register and ensuring appropriate mitigation, escalation and governance controls are applied.
• Act as accountable owner for project risk across safety, technical, commercial, schedule and operational interfaces.
• Develop, manage and control approved project budgets, including cost forecasting, commitment tracking, change control and variance reporting.
• Ensure robust financial governance, including management of contingency and transparent reporting of cost and schedule performance.
• Provide structured and timely project updates to the Site Director, Plant Manager and TeesREP client, reporting on safety, cost, schedule, risk and overall delivery status.
• Develop and maintain project KPI’s and performance dashboards to provide clear visibility of progress, risks, financial status and key delivery milestones.
• Ensure alignment of projects with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), outage schedules and wider site operational strategy.
• Manage contractor performance, ensuring compliance with site safety rules, CDM requirements and quality expectations.
• Ensure effective project handover to Operations, including documentation, training, commissioning records and asset integration requirements.

Minimum Requirements
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Hold a recognised Project Management qualification such as APM PMQ / APM Practitioner, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience delivering capital and/or revenue projects within power generation, energy, utilities or other major hazard / process industries.
• Experience working within live operating plant environments, ideally within power stations or continuous process facilities.
• Strong understanding of project governance, risk management and financial control.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary contractors under CDM regulations.
• Working knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) processes within regulated environments.
• Commercial awareness including budget ownership, forecasting and cost control.
• Experience presenting project performance data and reports to senior leadership and client stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across Operations, Engineering and client interfaces.
• Knowledge of relevant UK legislation including CDM Regulations, Electricity at Work Regulations and applicable SHEQ standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project planning tools (e.g. P6 or other)
