The Opportunity
As a Senior Software Engineer at Bright, you will be a key technical contributor within the BrightChecks team. This role will focus on developing high-quality, scalable solutions using C# both on the backend with Javascript on the front end. You will be using a modern toolchain that includes Azure services and Kubernetes to build and host what you produce. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a dynamic cross-functional team to deliver impactful projects that are core to driving the business forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain web-based applications and services ensuring robust and efficient performance.
- Appropriately test and document the code you write.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, QAs and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Work with the team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices in software engineering.
- Identify opportunities to improve development practices, tools, code health and maintainability in collaboration with the wider engineering community.
- Configure builds and automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments.
- Foster a collaborative environment by working closely within cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Software engineering experience with a focus on API design and development
- Deep expertise in C# .NET for building production APIs and services
- Strong SQL skills including database design, optimization, and query performance
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
Core Technical skills (must-have):
- C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API
- Entity Framework Core
- SQL Server
Preferred Technical Skills (nice-to-have):
- Clean Architecture and general architectural patterns
- RESTful API design
- Working knowledge of Azure
- Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (React / Angular / Vue.js)
