Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior International Admissions Officer, who will be a key part of the Future Students team and will lead on the assessing and processing of applications from international students from a wide range of countries. You will work collaboratively with all parts of the University, and externally taking the lead with agents, partners and applicants, giving advice and responding to enquiries  

About the Role

As part of the Admissions Team, you will take responsibility for proactively managing all aspects of the international admissions process, introducing new procedures where necessary.  This will include arranging visits and interviews, assessing and verifying qualifications, making decisions on student applications, providing high quality information to applicants / agents and communicating with applicants and other stakeholders.
 
The role will also include monitoring both online and printed information to ensure course details and entry requirements remain accurate and aligned with Higher Education best practice. You will represent the university by providing advice to prospective students and attending events such as open days, while working collaboratively with academic schools and professional services to support recruitment and admissions targets.

 The role also involves liaising with university departments on recruitment, admissions, compliance, and digital communications, as well as assisting with registration processes to ensure accurate documentation and data verification.

About You

  1. Demonstrable experience in working in an administrative role in the Higher Education sector or complex organisation 
  2. Highly developed organisational skills and considerable experience using computerised systems including databases and the internet. 
  3. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, as is the ability to work within a team whilst prioritising your own workload effectively 
  4. Demonstrable experience of evaluating and developing processes and procedures  
  5. Demonstrable ability to accurately work under pressure to tight deadlines. 
  6. Previous experience of working in Admissions in an HE setting. 
  7. Previous experience of working with international students in an HE setting. 
  8. Ability to work proactively, anticipating problems.
