  • Shift pattern: Week 1: Monday - Thursday, 4 days off, Week 2: Tuesday - Friday, 2 days off and then back to week 1 and repeat. No weekend work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Britten-Norman. Due to ongoing growth, we are now recruiting for an Avionics Technician to join us at our Lee-on-the-Solent site. 
 
As an avionics technician you will provide operational support to manufacturing, installation and maintenance in electrical and avionics disciplines, whilst working to completion of deadlines in accordance with specific instructions from management and supervision, carry out Installation, Test, Modification, Rectification and Maintenance of Aircraft Electrical and Avionics Systems in accordance with approved data, company procedures and regulatory requirements. Work to achieve optimum productivity both individually and within the team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Embodiment of avionics modifications in accordance with approved modification data
  • Carry out the removal, installation and rectification of electrical and avionics components and electrical assemblies in accordance with AMM or other approved data 
  • Carry out aircraft maintenance to the aircraft maintenance schedule and maintenance manual
  • Test systems in accordance with aircraft maintenance manuals and other approved data
  • Carry out fault-finding of defects, rectifying defects as found in accordance with aircraft maintenance manual and other approved data, and undertake and successfully pass appropriate training applicable to your role

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Aircraft Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Working in a similar role on light utility, unpressurised aircraft
  • Aircraft wiring 
  • Fault identification, isolation, and rectification
  • Avionics modifications
