Job Overview

Are you passionate about supporting students through some of the most challenging experiences of their lives? We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Sexual Violence and Domestic Abuse Caseworker to join our Student Wellbeing Services team, providing specialist support to student victim-survivors of sexual violence, sexual harassment and domestic abuse.

About the Role

You will manage a specialist caseload of students affected by sexual violence, relationship abuse, and sexual harassment. In this role, you will act as a key point of contact for disclosures, carrying out risk assessments, advising on safety, wellbeing, and academic progress, and coordinating referrals to appropriate internal and external support services. You will provide expert guidance on university policies and procedures, maintain accurate and confidential case records, and contribute to training, awareness-raising initiatives, and collaborative projects. The role also involves engaging in professional networks, supervision, and continuous development to ensure best practice and compliance with current legislation and sector guidance.

About You

  •  Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Experience of providing 1:1 support to vulnerable people, including risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention.

  • Experience of working with victim-survivors of sexual violence and/or relationship abuse.

  • Experience of delivering training and evaluating the impact of delivery.

  • Excellent organisational skills including the management of a varied workload and multiple deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively both within teams and on own initiative.

  • Qualification in a related field, e.g. ISVA, IDVA, SVLO

  • Experience of working in the Higher Education sector

  • Ability to work effectively both within teams and on own initiative.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work independently in a complex environment, taking initiative when necessary and prioritising effectively to meet deadlines.

  •  High levels of interpersonal and communication skills, with proven success in developing effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

  • A relevant professional qualification such as ISVA, IDVA or SVLO is desirable, as is prior experience working within Higher Education
