Mechanical Engineer II - Pumps

Responsible for the development and design of pumps and pumping systems, ensuring high standards of quality, efficient manufacturing processes, and end-user satisfaction.
This includes, but is not limited to, concept design and detailed engineering of products, prototype creation, development of functional specifications, design verification and validation specific to fluid pumps, and successful launch into manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
- Create, develop, and validate new products from customer requirements. Initiating preliminary design concepts and evaluation through concept feasibility, design validation, manufacturing process and PPAP approvals.
- Collaborate with a global multidisciplinary team to develop and launch innovative new products.
- Oversee product line maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective products.
- Benchmark competitive equipment.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary collaboration to correct manufacturing issues (assembly, machining, etc.), quality issues (dimensional, material, and design discrepancies, etc.), and purchasing issues (vendor qualification, engineering support, etc.)
- Define critical-to-quality dimensions and features of components and products.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling (Pro-E/Creo preferred) and 2D drafting and application of GD&T.
- Ability to analyze information, evaluate results, choose the best solution, and establish risk assessments and correlating validation requirements through engineering analysis, simulation, and testing.
- Working knowledge of, casting processes, and fabrication (preferred).
- Awareness of concepts of analytical tools such as finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics analysis, parametric modeling, and complex mathematical analysis programs.
- Skills and experience in planning, organizing, and executing new product development projects.
- Awareness of key project inputs/outputs of supporting functions such as finance, operations, sales, etc.
- This position requires approximately 10% travel.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree (required).
- Three plus years of related experience (required).
- Experience with project management (preferred).
- Experience in the design of pumps or other rotating equipment (preferred).
