We are currently seeking a part time Subject Librarian to cover maternity leave. As a key member of the Library Learning Services Team, you will lead on supporting the research and teaching/learning needs of staff and students for the School of Sciences.
(This is a part-time 0.6, 15 month fixed term contract, 22.5 hours per week 3 days per week 9am-5pm)

About the Role
Within the role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with academic staff and students while supporting the coordination and delivery of a comprehensive digital and information literacy programme.
The role involves working closely with colleagues across Library and Learning Services to provide high-quality resources and services, contributing to operational planning and policy development in line with strategic objectives, and assisting with budget management for designated subject areas. Flexibility is essential, as you will also provide cover for other Librarians when required.

About You
- Postgraduate qualification in library/information management and Chartered Librarian status or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or appropriate equivalents)
- Proven post-qualification professional experience in a library and/or information environment
- Ability to undertake the teaching of information literacy skills
- Professional skills in relation to collections management, searching electronic resources, experience of Library Management Systems, Reading List Systems.
- Budgetary skills
- Knowledge of the UK higher education environment, including teaching, learning and research
- Demonstrable desire to gain professional accreditation e.g. membership of CILIP, registration for Chartership etc.
- Previous teaching experience or qualification
- A qualified Chartered Librarian with experience of working in an HE environment
- Excellent communication skills with experience of building collaborative working relationships.
