We are looking for a Junior Model Maker to join our dynamic Model Shop team and play a key role in producing cutting-edge aero components. In this role you will support the manufacture of aerodynamic components using a variety of model shop processes. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, develop, and grow your technical skills while contributing to a team striving for excellence at the highest level of motorsport.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and develop core model making and manufacturing skills.
- Assist in painting and finishing of components.
- Gain understanding of pressure tapping methods and processes.
- Support pre-fit assembly of aero components for wind tunnel testing.
- Participate in tunnel testing activities.
- Follow component tracking and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain clear communication between shifts.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams including Design and Operations.
- Demonstrate flexibility during busy and high-pressure periods.
- Uphold health & safety standards and company procedures at all times.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A good understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally gained through previous experience in a similar role or within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Hands-on practical skills with a keen eye for detail and quality.
- A basic understanding of technical drawings and the ability to interpret them.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours and changing priorities.
- Results-driven with good decision-making ability.
Please note this role will be working on a rotating shift early/lates.
