Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Operations Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12–Month Fixed Term Contract. This role is pivotal in delivering a high-quality, professional financial operations service across the Group, ensuring robust, compliant, and efficient processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end sales ledger process, including timely invoice generation, receivables maintenance, and resolving customer and sponsor queries
  • Maintain accurate accounts receivable records, including allocations, ageing analysis, and account setup
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations, cashbook postings, and monitor the Group’s cash position
  • Support accounts payable processes, including reviewing ad-hoc payments and preparing payment runs
  • Oversee credit card and expense processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement 
  • Lead on process improvement initiatives, identifying efficiencies and enhancing financial controls
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and treasury/accrual-related entries
  • Provide training and guidance to the wider business on financial processes and best practices
  • Manage and develop the Financial Operations Assistant, including workload allocation, performance tracking, and mentoring

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience in purchase and sales ledger operations, ideally within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. 
  • Strong understanding of financial operations best practices, including P2P and O2C processes. 
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure. 
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills. 
  • High level of numeracy and attention to detail, with strong accuracy. 
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making ability. 
  • Ability to work independently and lead others, fostering development within a team.
