Job Overview

The Director is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and relationships of new and existing subscribers.
The incumbent will work with the different GS1 Canada teams to develop and execute strategies to meet sector and community needs, achieve cost recovery objectives and meet organizational goals. The successful candidate will collaborate with and influence key individuals within stakeholder organizations (data recipients, broker distributors, and data providers). Key metrics for this role may include subscriber retention, subscriber acquisition, subscriber satisfaction rating, increase in mass adoption of GS1 Canada Industry Managed Solutions (IMS). 

Key Responsibilities

·Translate vision, mission, and strategic objectives into functional goals, ensuring successful integration with other functional areas.

·Develop and execute sector expansion strategies to grow GS1 Canada’s footprint within emerging and priority industries. 

·Contribute to decisions in support of policy and strategic direction.

· Work closely with the Community Engagement team to develop and implement strategies and campaigns to drive new subscribers, reduce attrition, and increase mass adoption of GS1 Global standards and services.

·Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new market opportunities within targeted sectors to drive subscriber acquisition and long-term growth.

·Ensure subscriber relationships are established and maintained through the provision of exceptional service at all level of the organization including the C-suite. 
 
·Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, associations, and regulatory bodies within priority sectors to strengthen GS1 Canada’s market position.

·Establish, build, and manage cross-departmental relationships with subscribers to identify and drive new opportunities and engage in incremental GS1 Canada Industry Managed Solutions.

·Handle subscriber escalations.

·Understand and successfully articulate the value proposition for each Industry Managed Solutions to external stakeholders and consult on best practices.

·Establish, build, and manage cross-functional relationships with assigned GS1 Canada stakeholders to identify and drive new opportunities as well as engage in incremental services.

·Analyse progress against cost recovery targets, updates key stakeholders and establish a structure process for action as required.

·Liaise between Product Marketing and Subscriber Service/Account Coordinator teams to ensure campaigns are conducted according to strategy.

·Ensure ongoing understanding of all emerging technologies and services provided by GS1 Canada and within the competitive landscape.

·Participate in industry and government events associated with related sectors and provide strategic insight to internal stakeholders to deliver and maximize value.

·Provide leadership to indirect reports by providing motivation, mentoring, and coaching to all staff, to drive subscriber engagement and satisfaction.

·Participate in department leadership team meetings. 


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

· Bachelor’s degree post-graduate studies 
· At least ten (5 to 7) years’ related experience in account management role within Business Development/Account Management / Supply Chain / Logistics / Solution Provider / Manufacturing with demonstrated success defining and launching initiatives within a fast-paced, environment.
· Background in grocery, food service, Healthcare, Pharma, and brokerage is an asset.
·Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels. 
·Passionate driver with proven influencing skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels to advance business priorities. 
·Proven leadership skills and achievements that will effectively gain the confidence and support of internal and external stakeholders.
·Experience in performing needs assessment in a consultative approach (whiteboard session) with different stakeholders. 
·Previous proven successes working in a fast-paced, multi-level, project-based environment with emphasis on tight timelines and delivery.
·Proven organizational abilities with strong attention to detail as well as effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
· Possesses superior communication skills to facilitate discussions with a diverse stakeholder group, influence and negotiate requirements.
·Ability to build credibility through experience and a consensus-driven approach.
· Knowledge of GS1 Canada’s products and services (gained through internal networks or from a stakeholder environment) an asset.
· Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset to be able to engage with potential and existing subscribers from across the country.
·Position may require travel to attend trade show and conference and support subscriber engagement.
