We are actively seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Receptionist to join our emergency and specialty team. This role is essential to hospital operations and ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, communicates with empathy, and enjoys being the anchor for both clients and clinical teams.
As the first point of contact, you set the tone for every client experience—whether someone is walking in during a critical emergency or calling for follow-up care. Your ability to stay calm, organized, and compassionate makes a real difference during some of the most stressful moments in pet ownership.
Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:
Client Service & Communication
- Greet clients and patients with professionalism, warmth, and empathy
- Answer phones, triage incoming calls, and direct urgent cases appropriately
- Schedule appointments and manage emergency walk-ins efficiently
- Obtain and accurately document medical histories, vaccination records, and client information
Hospital Operations & Coordination
- Communicate clearly with veterinarians and technicians regarding patient flow and updates
- Process invoices, payments, and financial transactions accurately
- Assist with prescription pickups, food requests, and OTC products as directed
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with hospital policies
Front Desk & Team Support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
- Support cross-departmental workflow to keep the hospital running smoothly
- Adapt as hospital needs evolve—this is a true team-based environment
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous veterinary or medical office experience preferred (emergency or specialty experience a plus).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining accuracy and composure.
- Comfort working with computers and veterinary software.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and some holidays, to support our emergency and specialty services.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting patients or clients.
