About the role:
The Failure Analysis Engineer at Sun King will act as the primary technical liaison for overseas failure analysis requests. You will lead examinations of field-returned products (mainly solar energy storage systems and inverter systems), conduct market surveys, and coordinate cross-functional teams—including R&D, process, and manufacturing—to identify root causes. Your insights will directly drive product quality improvements and help document field failure modes, building a robust lessons-learned framework for the organization.

The Failure Analysis Engineer at Sun King will act as the primary technical liaison for overseas failure analysis requests. You will lead examinations of field-returned products (mainly solar energy storage systems and inverter systems), conduct market surveys, and coordinate cross-functional teams—including R&D, process, and manufacturing—to identify root causes. Your insights will directly drive product quality improvements and help document field failure modes, building a robust lessons-learned framework for the organization.
What you will be expected to do
- Partner with local FAEs (based in African countries) to validate failures and guide return product investigations, from initial verification to root cause identification.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, process, and manufacturing teams to conduct in-depth diagnostics and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and present detailed failure evaluation reports to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Summarize market failure modes and update internal knowledge databases to prevent recurrence.
- Support the Customer Quality Manager in quality improvement initiatives and supplier quality discussions when required.
You might be a strong candidate if you have/are
- Technical Expertise: Strong capability in electronic circuit failure diagnostics; able to read schematics and debug complex systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of inverter principles and power electronics is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on failure investigation experience, ideally in inverter power electronics or industrial manufacturing.
- Quality Background: Familiarity with quality methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, Fishbone diagrams) is a strong advantage.
- Communication: Skilled at bridging technical engineering and quality processes; international collaboration experience is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related fields.
- Language: Proficiency in English (written and spoken) to effectively communicate with overseas counterparts.
