We are now recruiting for an experienced Aircraft/Tig Welder to join our expanding and knowledgeable team 
  
 This role requires a skilled technician to support the new build production line manufacturing as well as detail parts production for aftermarket sales and MRO operations.

CAA approval under BCAR section A (A8-A10) is desired with approvals in Group 1 Aluminium Alloys, Group 3 Carbon Steels & Group 4 Corrosion & Heat Resisting. However, any TIG welding experience, especially with thin gauge metals will be considered and on hand training provided.  

Requirement of the role will be to obtain CAA approvals as stated above within the 6-month probation period. Any forming and sheet metal work alongside TIG welding would be beneficial

Key Responsibilities

  • Weld aircraft detail components as necessary using TIG welding and brazing techniques in accordance with our procedures. 
  • Use tungsten inert gas welding to fuse metal parts together.
  • Weld in all positions and thicknesses along with forming and metal work. 
  • Standardise and record changes to production techniques in line with approved design data to modernise the welding process in our production facility. 
  • Read and understand technical drawing instructions/build instructions 
  • Be adaptive to products that may require additional work or modification in line with the design data and build standards. 
  • High attention to sheet metal detail and effects of welding techniques on components. 
  • Working in a methodical manner alongside another welder/sheet metal operative to achieve desired outcome.
  • Adaptive to change and determination to finish components correctly and efficiently. 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum 3 years experience of Tig Welding
  • Able to gain or already hold CAA approval under BCAR section A (A8-A10) is desired with approvals in Group 1 Aluminium Alloys, Group 3 Carbon Steels & Group 4 Corrosion & Heat Resisting
  • Experience in forming and sheet metal work alongside TIG welding would be beneficial
