Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled HRIS Specialist to own and operate our benefits administration technology across a growing portfolio of diverse clients. This high-accountability role is responsible for the configuration and management of Employee Navigator, maintenance of carrier EDI connectivity, support of payroll integrations, and the oversight of accurate enrollment and billing operations. You will collaborate closely with internal Account Management and Marketing teams to ensure a seamless client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Navigator Administration

  • System Configuration: Maintain and configure the platform across all client groups, including plan design, eligibility rules, open enrollment, and portal setup.
  • Lifecycle Management: Manage events such as new hires, terminations, life events, and COBRA triggers within defined SLAs.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the internal SME to train internal teams and client HR contacts.

Carrier EDI & Eligibility

  • Connection Management: Monitor and manage $EDI/API$ connections across medical, dental, vision, life, and disability carriers.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Maintain accurate data across 400+ carrier connections and resolve file rejections or eligibility discrepancies within one business day.
  • Integration Support: Assist in the onboarding and validation of new carrier integrations.

Payroll Integrations

  • Sync Management: Build and maintain benefit deduction integrations with various payroll platforms, including ADP, UKG, Paylocity, Reynolds & Reynolds, and CDK.
  • Technical Support: Troubleshoot data sync issues and coordinate resolutions with client payroll teams.

Billing & Administration

  • Reconciliation: Generate and reconcile monthly invoices against enrollment data, processing retroactive adjustments as needed.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams on vendor payments and collections.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Core Experience

  • Platform Expertise: At least 3 years of hands-on Employee Navigator administration within a broker or multi-employer environment.
  • Technical EDI Management: Minimum of 2 years managing carrier EDI (834) connections and resolving eligibility errors.
  • Integration Background: Experience integrating benefits with at least one major payroll platform (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, UKG, or Paylocity).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA within a group health context.
  • Client Scale: Experience administering benefits for employers ranging from 50 to 500+ employees.

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of EDI 834/820 file structures and carrier connectivity workflows.
  • High proficiency in Excel for auditing, reconciliation, and billing validation.
  • Proactive written communication skills with a focus on audit-ready documentation standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK payroll platforms.
  • Familiarity with PlanYear or similar decision support tools.
  • Previous experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
  • Evaluation Priority: Strong priority will be given to candidates with multi-platform payroll integration experience.
