As the Senior Facilities Infrastructure Engineer (Mojave) at Impulse Space, you will lead the build-out and activation of a new site in the Mojave Desert. This role is hands-on and execution-focused: you’ll take a facility from bare ground → operational aerospace site, working across construction, infrastructure, and utilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage major capital projects and infrastructure improvements at the Mojave Test Facility, including MEP systems, utilities, structural upgrades, and facilities for specialized aerospace test infrastructure
- Coordinate with architects, MEP, civil and structural engineers, and contractors to translate design into reality
- Manage construction schedules, sequencing, and on-site activity, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Oversee contractors and infrastructure work on-site
- Serve as the primary liaison for the local AHJ authorities, landlord, and construction agencies, ensuring alignment with zoning, permitting, and environmental standards
- Interact with leaders and executives to deliver project updates and statuses
- Own construction budgets and bidding for large CAPEX projects
- Ensure quality, safety, and compliance across projects and on all phases of construction
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Construction Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Construction, Project Management or equivalent
- Demonstrated understanding of Civil, Structural, MEP systems and new greenfield site developments
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors and driving construction execution on-site
