Responsible for creating needed replacement parts for various machines throughout the plant from drawings, sketches, or verbal descriptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Franklin Electric Quality System.
- Report problems with quality, process, equipment, and materials to Production Supervisor.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Supports the manufacturing process by assisting in repair of equipment.
- Teams up with other maintenance staff and engineers to find out the part that needs to be created.
- Utilizes various machines to create the required part as determined.
- Follows blueprints if available to create required parts.
- Participates in improvement events and recommends improvements to existing processes.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Hands-on experience with tool and die equipment.
- Works with various CNC and/or manual, cutting and grinding machines, and hand tools.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints with knowledge of basic GD&T.
- Works with CAD software. AutoCad or Draftsite knowledge preferred.
- Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Utilizes common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.
- Ability to work alone effectively under stress and in situations dangerous to self or others.
- Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
- Completion of trade school or equivalent completing certificate in maintenance (preferred)
- One (1) year or more of experience working as a tool and die specialist. (required) May substitute education for experience.
