Job Overview

The GDS Specialist at Mercury Holiday plays a key role in ensuring seamless travel bookings, integration, and support across all Global Distribution Systems (GDS), like Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo, and other relevant platforms. The GDS Specialist will work closely with the sales, operations, and customer service teams to enhance booking efficiency, resolve technical issues, and improve the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize GDS tools for booking air, hotel, car, and vacation packages. 
  • Ensure all travel booking systems are integrated and up to date for efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any GDS-related technical issues in coordination with IT or GDS support teams.
  • Assist internal teams with complex or high-value bookings across various travel products (airlines, hotels, car rentals, etc.).
  • Provide accurate and timely support for clients during the booking process, ensuring all requests and preferences are met.
  • Process cancellations, modifications, and refunds as necessary through GDS systems.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with GDS platforms
  • Prior experience in the travel industry, preferably in a similar specialist role (travel booking, reservations, or account management).
  • Strong proficiency in GDS systems (Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to interact with internal teams and client
