Logistics Coordinator

Full Time $23.00 - $27.00 / hour

Job Overview

 The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day flow of outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, efficient scheduling, and a positive experience for drivers and internal teams. This role plays a critical part in coordinating high volumes of semi-truck traffic while maintaining organization, accuracy, and timeliness in all shipping activities. 

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. 

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Coordinate and manage the daily flow of outbound shipments, including high volumes of semi-truck pickups 
  •  Schedule loads and assign pickup times to optimize efficiency and minimize delays 
  •  Prepare, review, and distribute shipping documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance 
  •  Verify that all paperwork matches the correct load prior to release 
  •  Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing clear instructions and resolving issues in real time 
  •  Communicate with internal departments (production, warehouse, customer service) to ensure order readiness and accuracy 
  •  Maintain organized records of shipments, bills of lading, and other logistics documentation 
  •  Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies related to shipments, paperwork, or scheduling 
  •  Monitor yard activity and coordinate dock flow to support timely loading and departures 
  •  Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations 

Qualifications

  •  High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant experience preferred 
  •  Previous experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, transportation, or manufacturing environment strongly preferred 
  •  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment 
  •  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with drivers and cross-functional teams 
  •  Basic computer skills, including experience with shipping systems, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office 
  •  Ability to problem-solve quickly and make sound decisions under pressure

  •  Fast-paced industrial or manufacturing setting with frequent interaction with truck drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel 
  •  High-volume shipping environment with constant activity and changing priorities 
  •  Primarily office-based with regular time spent in shipping/yard area
