The Graphic Editor plays a key role within GS1 Canada’s Imaging & Validation team, ensuring that all product images meet GS1 Canada’s quality, accuracy, and compliance standards. Working under the guidance of the Supervisor, Graphic Editing, this position contributes directly to GS1 Canada’s commitment to delivering superior, high-quality images for subscribers.
The Graphic Editor is responsible for editing product images in a high-volume production environment, supporting the organization’s Centre of Excellence in imaging standards and continuous improvement culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize product images using Adobe Photoshop and related tools in accordance with GS1 Canada Imaging Standards and quality guidelines.
- Understand and execute editing requests from the internal team to ensure images accurately represent subscriber products.
- Maintain a daily production target while upholding quality, compliance, and turnaround expectations.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Photography, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2–3 years of experience in digital image editing, photo retouching, or similar production environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; knowledge of Adobe Bridge, Lightroom, or other digital asset management tools an asset.
- Understanding of photography and lighting principles, colour theory, and digital imaging techniques.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance image quality and production speed.
- Proven time management and organizational skills, able to prioritize effectively without sacrificing overall image quality.
- Familiarity with GS1 standards, image compliance, or similar regulated content production environments is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and take direction while maintaining a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Excellent Communication skills, written and spoken in French.
