Job Overview

High-Level Overview 

ATP is building a talent pool of Francophone Energy Access & Electrification Experts to support ongoing and upcoming projects across West and Central Africa. This includes work across electrification, clean cooking, energy access, and sector planning, supporting governments, development partners, and private sector stakeholders.






Role and Responsibilities

Candidates Required:
Multiple

Key Deliverables: 
  • Provide technical advisory on energy access, electrification, and clean cooking initiatives  
  • Support sector planning, policy development, and implementation strategies  
  • Contribute to project design, implementation, and monitoring  
  • Develop technical reports, assessments, and strategic recommendations  
  • Support stakeholder engagement with government entities, donors, and private sector actors  
  • Contribute to capacity building and knowledge transfer 

Requirements

Experience Required: 
  • 8–20 years of experience in energy access, electrification, or related sectors
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects in Africa or emerging markets 
Technical Requirements:
  • Expertise in one or more of the following:  
  • Clean cooking  
  • Energy access / off-grid / mini-grids  
  • Electrification planning  
  • Power sector strategy and policy  
  • Familiarity with sector planning tools or energy modelling approaches is an advantage
Other Skills: 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement capability  
  • Structured communication and reporting  
  • Ability to operate in complex institutional environments 
Additional information about desired profiles: 
  • Fluency in French and English is mandatory  
  • Experience in Francophone Africa strongly preferred  
  • Experience working with governments, DFIs, or donor-funded programmes is an advantage
