Expo 2027 Belgrade, a Bureau of International Expositions (BIE)-recognized World Expo, will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the theme “Play for Humanity – Sport and Music for All.” Bringing together more than 100 countries and millions of visitors, the Expo will serve as a global platform for cultural exchange, innovation, and international collaboration.
The USA Pavilion will be a flagship destination at Expo 2027, welcoming visitors from around the world through immersive experiences, dynamic programming, and interactive storytelling. Inspired by the Expo theme, the Pavilion will showcase American creativity, innovation, music, sport, and culture while highlighting the power of connection, collaboration, and people-to-people engagement.
The Senior Venue Manager for the USA Pavilion at Expo 2027 Belgrade will oversee the daily operations of the pavilion's facilities and visitor-facing areas. This role requires an emotionally intelligent and accountable leader with a track record of managing safe and successful venue and facilities for large-scale events. They will be able to develop and implement clear strategies to ensure all operations and activities run smoothly, and in alignment with pavilion standards. The ideal candidate will be an individual who knows how to lead different types of people and personalities, understanding how to motivate staff while instilling confidence in them, to make the pavilion function effectively. They will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a world-class experience that represents American innovation, culture, and excellence.
They will also instill values of ownership so all teams can excel in strategy development, training, communication coordination, problem-solving, and documentation & reporting, with the ultimate unified goal of delivering an exceptional experience for visitors and positive environment for staff, while maintaining a well-managed and welcoming pavilion.
The nature of Expo operations requires a collaborative and flexible working environment across all areas of the USA Pavilion. While each team member will have a defined role and primary responsibilities, all staff may be required to support additional operational functions as needed to ensure the successful delivery of the Pavilion experience. This may include assistance across programming, VIP visits and protocol, cultural performances, food and beverage operations, hospitality, venue management, guest services, staffing coordination, special events, and other operational activities. Due to the live-event nature of the project, support may occasionally be required with limited notice, and all team members are expected to contribute proactively, professionally, and collaboratively to the overall success of the Pavilion.

Key Responsibilities
Venue Oversight | Oversee the day-to-day management of the pavilion to ensure all areas, including visitor-facing areas, back-of-house spaces, and technical facilities, are fully functional. Monitor all pavilion operations and activities to facilitate a seamless and safe experience for both visitors and staff, addressing and mitigating issues in real-time.
Team Leadership | Lead and manage all on-site teams, including staff, contractors, and volunteers. Develop team schedules and allocate responsibilities to ensure smooth execution of all venue activities.
Visitor Experience | Oversee and foster an exceptional visitor experience including crowd management, accessibility, and safety. Respond proactively to visitor needs and operational challenges to uphold the pavilion’s high standards.
Visitor Flow Management | Develop strategic plans to manage crowd flow, queue systems, and ticketing while prioritizing a safe and enjoyable experience. Identify and resolve bottlenecks or delays in real time.
Facility Management | Develop a plan to manage pavilion facilities, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and functionality across all areas. Manage maintenance schedules, technical operations, and inspections to maintain pavilion readiness, working closely with cleaning and security teams.
Vendor Management | Manage vendor relationships, ensuring service agreements are upheld, and logistical needs are met. Coordinate with service providers for security, cleaning, catering, technical support, and other venue-related operations.
Information Services | Oversee information desks and guest interaction points, ensuring visitors receive accurate and helpful information about pavilion activities, events, and services. Create clear signage and visitor communications.
Customer Service Training | Develop and lead customer service training programs to ensure guest services teams uphold professionalism, effective communication and cultural sensitivity. Provide ongoing coaching and support for team performance.
Event Coordination | Collaborate with events, protocol, programming, sponsorships and logistics teams to ensure all events, performances, and exhibitions run seamlessly. Oversee venue transitions for events, including setup, teardown, and resource allocation.
Health and Safety | Develop and monitor safety protocols to ensure compliance with Expo regulations and local laws. Lead emergency preparedness planning and staff training for crisis response scenarios.
Operational Reporting | Prepare daily and weekly venue performance reports, tracking visitor flow, operational challenges, and issue resolution. Provide Operations Leadership Team with data-driven insights to improve efficiency and visitor satisfaction.
Budget and Resource Management | Monitor operational budgets related to venue maintenance, staffing, and resources. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
Compliance | Ensure all pavilion operations comply with Expo guidelines, safety protocols, and Serbian labor regulations. This will include the development of a Venue Operating Plan in conjunction with the Operations Leadership Team. Required Skills & Qualifications
- English Speaking (C1 or Native)
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing operations, planning for changing situations, training teams, and fostering accountability and ownership among staff.

Preferred Qualifications:
