To supervise the daily on-site waste transfer operations including pre-acceptance, acceptance, onward transfer, and all physio chemical treatment operations.
Ensure all compliance paperwork is kept up to date and monitored.
Ensure all operations take place in line with the Environmental Management System.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee waste transfer operations to ensure all site activities are in line with the EMS and in full compliance with site permits.
· Oversee and run the effluent treatment plant ensuring all wastes are fit for acceptance, all batches are treated correctly in line with our consent to discharge, all paperwork is kept up to date in compliance with EMS.
· Complete quarterly Trade effluent returns and water sampling to comply with our consent to discharge.
· Maintain records as required to ensure compliance with EMS.
· Ensure all activities and processes are documented within the EMS requirements.
· Perform pre-acceptance and acceptance analysis on wastes to ensure permit compliance.
· Ensure all rejection/ non-conformances are communicated/recorded in timely manner and managed in accordance with company procedure.
· Ensuring all relevant site documentation is completed correctly, and in a timely manner.
· Ensure all PO raised and completed within the expected deadlines.
· Support with duty of care visits to 3rd party disposal sites.
· Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure the profitability of all hazardous waste operations in line with company expectations.
· Maintain site storage capacity and volumes in line with the EMS (Considering COMAH, HSG65 and Permit conditions).
· Maintain highest standards of health and safety.
· Responsibility for all permit reporting and monitoring.
· Auditing/training operations for compliance
· Consulting with suppliers as required.
· To actively assist and Support Operations Manager in managing subcontractors, including participation in cost negotiations.
· Be a key member of the Operations team, providing/developing key KPI’s, Risk assessments inc. COSHH, and safe systems of work.
· Any other duties as required.

· Chemistry degree.

· Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft packages including Word and Excel.
Preferred:
· WAMITAB Level 4 (4TMH or 4TSH).
· DGSA.
· NEBOSH / IOSH Managing Safely (or higher).
