About the role
Role Purpose
The HR Data Analyst Payroll & HRIS will play a critical role in improving the quality, completeness, and consistency of people data across Reconomy. The role is responsible for collecting payroll data files from all geographic locations, understanding and interpreting the data contained within those files, and consolidating them into a single master dataset.
This master dataset will be routinely reconciled against the HRIS to identify data discrepancies, missing information, and required updates. The role will also proactively engage with in‑country payroll providers, local HR teams, and Finance colleagues to resolve gaps and ensure ongoing data accuracy in line with payroll cycles.

Payroll & Data Collection
- Collect payroll files from all Reconomy entities and locations in line with agreed payroll calendars.
- Understand the structure, content, and definitions of payroll data across different countries, providers, and formats.
- Maintain clear documentation of payroll file structures and data variations.
Data Consolidation & Reconciliation
- Build and maintain a consolidated master payroll dataset bringing together all locations.
- Reconcile payroll data against the HRIS to identify discrepancies, missing fields, or misaligned values.
- Clearly document variances and propose corrective actions aligned to global data standards.
Data Quality & Issue Resolution
- Identify data missing from payroll files and actively chase required information with local HR, payroll teams, or Finance.
- Track and monitor recurring data quality issues and support root‑cause analysis.
- Work with People Systems colleagues to ensure HRIS updates are completed accurately and on time.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build strong working relationships with regional HR teams, payroll providers, and Finance colleagues.
- Clearly communicate data issues, risks, and progress to the People Systems & Data team.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Support the development of standardized payroll‑to‑HRIS reconciliation processes.
- Contribute to improved data governance, controls, and audit readiness.
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline data collection and reconciliation activities over time.
What we need from you
Essential
- 6 to 10 years of strong experience working with large, confidential datasets, ideally payroll, HR, or financial data.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g. lookups, data cleansing, pivot tables; Power Query desirable).
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and consistency.
- Experience reconciling data between multiple sources and systems.
- Confidence working with stakeholders across different countries and time zones.
Desirable
- Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Understanding of global payroll concepts and country‑specific variations.
- Experience supporting recurring operational processes (e.g. payroll cycles, monthly reporting).
- Exposure to data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI).
