Shipping Officer
Job Overview
The role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Shipping Officer to join our team in our Welling HO. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth flow of incoming shipments, accurate documentation, and efficient communication between internal teams, suppliers, and freight partners. Working closely with the Purchasing team, you will manage all shipping and receiving activities to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide quick and accurate responses to Sales staff regarding shipping and stock-related enquiries.
Assist with processing shipping issues and stock matters within the relevant product portfolio.
Ensure all import documentation is complete, accurate, and available for every shipment.
Liaise with customs agents and promptly forward all required documentation.
Conduct weekly reviews of shipment statuses and work with freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery; update due dates as advised.
Notify the National Warehouse Manager of all pending incoming shipments.
Work with the National Warehouse Manager and Logistics Manager to resolve shipment discrepancies; communicate issues with suppliers and enter Return for Credit (RFC) where required.
Register and cost all incoming shipments, both local and international.
Receipt all incoming shipments accurately and promptly.
Maintain up‑to‑date order information in internal systems.
Consolidate shipments when practicable to optimise freight efficiency.
Proactively identify issues, communicate impacts, and propose solutions.
Monitor shipping rates and lead times; recommend improvements to enhance service levels.
Perform additional duties as directed by the General Manager.

Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail
Experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination
Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, agents, and freight partners
Proactive approach with strong problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
